SPRING/SUMMER 2012 The sense of femininity and seduction that inspires the Liu Jo and Liu Jo Jeans collections is also a key feature of the shoes line, as it mirrors the array of suggestions and influences: the style is made of details that outline every item accurately and turn it into simply special. A broad selection of materials and colours alternates a discreet and essential elegance to a rather determined and sexy disposition, tracing a consistent and varied process made with targeted matches with all Liu Jo and Liu Jo Jeans apparel collections. A broad range of models, presented in a great array of material and details, is thus developed in three themes. SAHARA SUNSETThe word Sahara conjures up a number of warm and cosy memories, images and atmospheres, just like the smooth shape of a dune in the middle of a desert. The vision opens on a cocktail party in the desert; under the a scorching African sun the guests sip on their Bellini, an aperitif that, with its typical peach colour, epitomizes the colour shades of the very theme. The protagonist is a sober, sophisticated and well-mannered creature who loves to enjoy beautiful and sophisticated things. The pose is that of Fifties ladies, but their independence and self-awareness are typical to contemporary women. The shoes in this theme feature a heel or wedge plateau, cord insole, simple, essential yet very feminine shapes, with inner plateau and Louis heel; round tips with solid heel; open toe with a little inner plateau and reduced heels. The range moves from very high heels (110) to comfortable shapes for daily use (75). In addition, the collection features open sandals with small bands of the wedge heel and ultra-flat leather sandals, both simple and elaborate. The colours are neutral - wool white and ivory cream – matched and contrasting, to intense coral, tile blue, lipstick. The materials range from natural tone whips, to strictly blue denim, to calf and goat, soft plissé Nappa leather and python-print calf.BOHO CHICThe inspiration to the second theme comes from the romantic bohemian world, where the chic silhouette evolves into the most sophisticated fashion current of the Seventies. The icon-woman who interprets Liu Jo’s boho chic world is a “degagée” lady, who, in her spontaneous and natural elegance, loves to match comfortable, soft-shaped style with highly sophisticated details such as lace, laser-perforated and braided details.This theme just could not do without the evergreen perforated “a sacchetto” ballerinas, with lace, calf and chamois inserts, glossy metal plates and large ribbons; the clogs, closed, open toe and sandal, feature a natural wood sole; flat espadrilles with cord-covered wedge and denim, Nappa leather and chamois upper; elegant shoes with large applied heels or thin Louis, rounded or hexagonal heels. For the most elegant shapes, the heel of choice is 75 with spiked shape. The warm and natural overtones - mud grey, pink clay, brick, and brown sugar – are matched with cold neutral shades - dove, green bay, lichen. The material used ranges from denim matched with leather, to pleated or ribbon-finished Nappa leather, to lurex canvas, glossy and faded satin, glossy and matt calf finished with laser details and herringbone cotton bands, to chamois, the essential material for ballerinas, espadrilles, or again, used for decorative bands and knots in the more elegant models.SHINY SOUL, STRIPES AND POISThis theme features the most outstanding traits to the brand’s soul. The main inspiration is taken from the Nineties, and stands out with sober shapes made precious with jewel details, for the extremely feminine, consciously elegant allure of the Liu Jo woman. The brand’s icon bags are the most distinctive elements: Kate, available in a new range of colours, and Matilda, with incredibly feminine details that shine with a golden gloss. There is also room for logos, now revisited in different models, applied to stone bases, to rhinestone shine and the unfading touch of stripes and polka dots.The available array of shoes ranges from sandals to flat and high-heel, low-heel bands and with a thin Louis heel; open toe with glossy metal and rhinestone details; classic décolleté and “Chanel” enriched with details; wedge, open toe sandal, mule and flat flip-flop with a great amount of polka dots drawn into the raffia weave. The colours are classic: from malt to linen, from biscuit to dove, alternating to tomato and saffron yellow, the flash colours. The materials used are lurex canvas enriched with studs and rhinestone, glossy satin with a great deal of small stones, polka dot woven raffia, chamois, glossy and matt calf and glossy goat.
