LIU JO MEETS DESIGN

A meeting between Liu Jo style and design: from Monday 12th to Sunday 17th April the prestigious windows of the Italian Liu Jo flagship store in C.so Vittorio Emanuele II 30, Milan, will host some of the most interesting objects designed by Bruno Rainaldi. On the occasion of the week of Milanese design, Liu Jo chose to devote its windows to the presentation of Freedom e Piercing, innovative luminous sculptures originating from the meeting between Rainaldi’s creative genius and the creativity and handicrafts skills of Davide Medri, an artist and mosaic expert.Freedom e Piercing: a large luminous chain covered with a mirror mosaic, with an oversize version in the case of Freedom; a wall ring, also in mirror mosaic, piercing the wall. Luxury and sophisticated objects prove at the same time ironic and extraordinarily expressive, like the creativity characterizing Bruno Rainaldi’s work. Such objects combine perfectly with the Liu Jo style, which is simple and sophisticate, minimal and glamorous at the same time. It is a tribute paid by Liu Jo to "Bruno Rainaldi - designer da marciapiede (Midnight Designer)", one of the most influential creatives in Italy over the last years, who died prematurely on 23rd February 2011. The leitmotif is provided by an individual and spontaneous perspective over modern life and the constant search for the correct balance between irony and elegance, Italian style and creativity, i.e. the features that have always characterized Liu Jo’s production and Bruno Rainaldi’s work. On Wednesday 13th the boutique in C.so Vittorio Emanuele will stay open until 11 pm to host customers and fans of design.
