FORMAL REBELSThe Liu Jo Jeans men have been leading a rebellion to formality for several seasons: a search for freedom as a key concept of modern clothing that goes beyond rules and trends. For the spring/summer 2012 the style we propose is a return to basic and soft lines for a day&night "easy" clothing.The keyword for this season is "deconstructing", meaning the will to forsake all structures, which is implemented in the destructured knit or jersey outerwear with their clearly informal style, garment-dyed, and in the abundant knitwear that will represent the true dominating element of this collection. Shapes are the undisputed protagonists of silhouettes that play on bodily proportions and soft lines: the whole spectrum of knitwear gauges has been exploited in a wide array of stitches and patterns that further enlivens the offer; our knitwear is soft to the touch and uses natural yarns like cotton, linen and silk. We have carried out an accurate research on details and accessories: polo sweaters have been revisited and enriched with embroideries, badges and contrasting colour finishes, while linen inserts embellish both the jersey and the knitwear. Logo-branded pashminas and silk foulards set off and complete any look.The stone wash treatment, that as always grants a seasoned and rebel look to all clothes, has been widely used on all the products, and so has been the hand-made spray painting. Colour loses its lead role, as if to underline the refusal to stick to pre-existing labels, focusing on neutral hues of milk white, colonial green, pale dove grey, pearl grey, mushroom and moon mist, intertwined with strokes of primary colours, especially for the printed T-shirts: sun yellow, chilli pepper, vertigo blue and cobalt blue.
