The 2012 Spring/Summer collection is meant for all those women who love fashion and their bodies, too, the new bearers of a harmony that springs from glamour, appeal and elegance through a range of functional and comfortable fits. This Ajay collection fills the spring with sweet and feminine shades, while vivid and warm colours are kept in store for the summer, when elegant and sheer sensuality is in full swing. SENSUELLE LARTIGUEThe inspiration takes origin from the evocative and sensual images of Jacques Henri Lartigue, a photographer from the Thirties who went down in history for portraying la vie en rose of the France of that time. His marvellous photographs convey the idea of seduction, delicacy and elegance, which also permeates in the desire for preciousness and the quest for sophistication of the Ajay items. The mood for the theme rests on a selection with a falsely naïve allure: frills, asymmetrical details, Valenciennes lace, pillow lace and light draping. The colour palette is based on delicate, pleasantly glossy harmony: white, cinder and anis sun-dried green pigments are combined with watercolour shades such as light blue and quartz pink with precious traits of sepia and rock.The trenches are made with soft double-layer fabric and drop-proof micro-weave, while the technical fabric used for the jackets is played down with fun polka dot prints. The trousers, skirts and dresses are made with the brand’s classic methods: from Milano stitches to light cotton micro-weave. The slim fit of straight denim range is once again very rich in details and available in grey, classic blue washes and stone wash. The dresses have a light and cottony look about them and boast lace details. The knitwear range is also very comprehensive: lace-finish jacquard, prints, matches with collection fabrics and solid-colour satin. The prints are made on cotton muslin, cotton/silk and tulle with polka dot and one-colour flower prints. KASBAH BEAUTYLeave the city and elope, set out on a journey to a fascinating desert, a place where anything is possible, to reach intimate and deep wellbeing. This theme embodies a big makeover, by matching baroque aesthetic to a simple touch, drawing inspiration from a modernist avant-garde concept. The volumes and lines are structured and thought as architectural elements: the rectangles, as well as the generous and wrapping volumes made with light material completely redefine brand-new shapes. The colours are halfway between the sky and the earth, in an elemental palette: mineral shades, iguana green, faded white and sand pink are brought out with the heat of sunrise and terres rose.The dresses are made with fil à fil embroidered cotton, crepe fabrics, soft and striped jersey, while the prints are placed on muslin, georgette and tulle and portray exotic and colourful patterns. Classic cargo trousers were refreshed with a tight fit. Knitwear was developed with light and precious threads, striped, perforated details and single-colour jacquard, while the printed t-shirts, featuring new volumes, are matched to the fabric.
